I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. As a culturally responsive, client-centred therapist, I am committed to understanding and honoring your unique lived experiences, values, and background. I provide a safe, empathetic space where you can explore your challenges, and together, we can work collaboratively to help you achieve emotional balance and lasting positive change. Therapy is a deeply transformative process, one that I believe is rooted in empathy, genuine connection, and the recognition of each person’s inherent strength. I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, meaning I honour each individual’s unique life experiences, culture, and identity. My commitment to anti-oppressive practices informs how I work, ensuring that I create a space where all voices are heard, and clients are empowered to heal without judgment or discrimination. My personal connection to the field comes from my own journey of seeking understanding and healing, which has shaped my belief that growth often emerges from vulnerability and connection. I also take a strength-based approach, believing that every individual has the capacity for change and resilience — sometimes, it’s about uncovering those strengths when life feels overwhelming. My areas of practice include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, managing emotions, body image concerns, couples and family issues, communication challenges, boundary-setting and assertiveness, cultural and racial identity concerns, and life transitions and stress. My theoretical modalities is based in Gottman Method for couples therapy (level 2 certified), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Attachment-based Therapy, Culturally- Adapted Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CaCBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy and others. My client population consists of youth, and adults including individuals, couples and families. I am licensed in the province of Alberta. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach; it requires time, flexibility, and a deep understanding of each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. I believe in tailoring a therapeutic plan that aligns with your personal experiences, values, and goals, recognizing that healing and growth unfold at different paces for everyone. I aim to create a warm and friendly environment to ensure you have a safe space to explore challenges and experiences. Growing up as a person of colour, I struggled with finding support and understanding, especially within my own community where mental health is often stigmatized. I wanted to not only help others navigate their emotional, mental and relational challenges but also reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. I believe that providing therapy in a culturally sensitive lens can help others feel empowered to seek help, break through barriers, and prioritize their well-being.
