I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and I specialize in couples counselling, anxiety, body image issues, and a variety of other concerns. I offer my services in both English and Punjabi and I am licensed in Alberta. I provide in-person and online therapy for individuals, including teens and adults, as well as couples, and families. I also incorporate culturally sensitive counselling practices that honor each individual’s unique life experiences, culture, and identity. By recognizing and valuing your distinct background, I create a safe and supportive environment where we can work together towards your personal goals.
My approach is deeply rooted in cultural responsiveness and client-centered therapy. This means I prioritize understanding and honoring your unique experiences, values, and background, working collaboratively with you to navigate your journey toward healing and personal growth. I provide a safe, empathetic space where you can explore your challenges, and together, we can work collaboratively to help you achieve emotional balance and lasting positive change. Therapy is a deeply transformative process, one that I believe is rooted in empathy, genuine connection, and the recognition of each person’s inherent strength. I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective, meaning I honour each individual’s unique life experiences, culture, and identity. My commitment to anti-oppressive practices informs how I work, ensuring that I create a space where all voices are heard, and clients are empowered to heal without judgment or discrimination. My personal connection to the field comes from my own journey of seeking understanding and healing, which has shaped my belief that growth often emerges from vulnerability and connection. I also take a strength-based approach, believing that every individual has the capacity for change and resilience — sometimes, it’s about uncovering those strengths when life feels overwhelming. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach; it requires time, flexibility, and a deep understanding of each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. I believe in tailoring a therapeutic plan that aligns with your personal experiences, values, and goals, recognizing that healing and growth unfold at different paces for everyone. I aim to create a warm and friendly environment to ensure you have a safe space to explore challenges and experiences. Growing up as a person of colour, I struggled with finding support and understanding, especially within my own community where mental health is often stigmatized. I wanted to not only help others navigate their emotional, mental and relational challenges but also reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. I believe that providing therapy in a culturally sensitive lens can help others feel empowered to seek help, break through barriers, and prioritize their well-being.
